European Breakdown Cover
Our European breakdown cover incorporates all the benefits of our UK breakdown cover plus breakdown cover throughout the European Union and Switzerland.
This European breakdown cover policy covers you for roadside assistance, where we will cover you for up to one hours' roadside labour to get your vehicle fixed and on your way (where possible and practical) when you breakdown anywhere in the UK, European Union and Switzerland.
If we cannot get your vehicle fixed at the scene of the breakdown in the UK, we will recover the vehicle, the driver and up to four passengers. We will take you to either your destination, your home address, or the nearest garage able to repair the vehicle; whichever option is closest to the scene of the breakdown – we do this so that your vehicle can be repaired and back on the road as soon as possible.
If you breakdown in Europe and the vehicle cannot be repaired at the scene of the breakdown then we will pay the cost of transporting your vehicle to one of our approved repairers. If your vehicle cannot be repaired on the same day as the breakdown then we will pay hotel accommodation for the driver plus up to four passengers up to £50.00 per person per night up to a maximum of £500.00 per claim or the cost of hiring a replacement vehicle up to a maximum daily rate of £50.00 for a maximum of 7 days or the cost of transporting your vehicle, the driver and up to four passengers to a destination within the territorial limit up to the value of the vehicle.
You are covered for six callouts during the course of the European breakdown cover policy, subject to them being covered by the policy terms and conditions.
Our European breakdown cover is vehicle specific, so we cover any driver legally able to drive the vehicle should they breakdown. We cover any age vehicle used for personal use and up to 3.5 tonnes in weight, excluding campervans, motorhomes and vehicles with living accommodation. Refund policy: A refund is only available if cancellation is made within 14 days of the purchase date or start date of the policy (whichever is sooner) and if no claims have been made. You will then receive a full refund less an administration fee.
